T.I. went on Red Table Talk with his wife Tiny, in what I think was an attempt to clean up his comments about having his daughter go to the doctor yearly to check if her hymen was still intact. I don’t think this interview helped his case lol. Here are some takeaways.
So these are the points he made for himself. His daughter’s mother was present for all the appointments, he didn’t actually make these said appointments, he wasn’t in the exam room when the hymen check goes down and he doesn’t necessarily do attend these appointments anymore. So let me break these down.

Um ok so, is it supposed to be better or worse that both of her parents are invading her body and privacy? Yeah, no thanks.
He didn’t schedule the appointment
Yippee. Well, aren’t you a hero. So you didn’t make the appointment but you endorse the invasion of privacy? Yeah, ok, got it.
He Wasn’t in the Exam Room
I actually felt a sense of relief when he said this. Because when he was talking about it on the podcast initially, it was very easy to jump to the conclusion that he was in the room with her. I’m really glad he wasn’t but come on, it’s still happening and you’re still asking for the results to one of the most intimate details of a girl’s life. It’s still awkward.
He’s Not Currently Doing These Appointments
Ok, well he sure did make it seem like these appointments are not a thing anymore since his daughter is 18. So that’s a relief. However, he basically said there’s a double standard for women.
What changes for a man when a baby is on the way? Nothing. A female experiences physical changes and will have the baby at home with her. There is more responsibility for a woman once sexual activity begins. He didn’t know if his daughter was adequately equipped to handle the emotional and physical burdens that sex comes with.
SO, the only way he could get ahead of the situation was to be informed about what she was doing. Not by talking to his daughter but by trying to control her and invade her body.
It wasn’t cool earlier this month and it’s not cool now.
He did apologize to his daughter and admitted that he didn’t realize the negative impact this would have on her when he was running his mouth on the podcast. So, it seems like all is well within the family but I just have a whole new outlook on T.I.
