Fans of The Bachelor know all about the tumultuous relationship between Katy Morton and Chris Bukowski. The couple met on season 6 of Bachelor in Paradise and let’s just say they never seemed to quite fit. While other couples were visibly falling in love, these two were having the most uncomfortable fights on screen.

And there were several other moments like this one where I seriously wondered if they’d make it to the end of the show as a couple, let alone married for the rest of their lives.

Who is Katy Morton?

Katy was originally on the 23rd season of The Bachelor starring Colton Underwood. She was eliminated in week 6, a week before the would-be Bachelorette, Hannah B. Then, she went on the 6th season of Bachelor in Paradise.

Who is Chris Bukowski?

Chris Bukowski, on the other hand, has made a career of appearing on Bachelor shows. He was a contestant on the 8th season of The Bachelorette where he was eliminated in week 8 and later returned in the 3rd season of Bachelor Pad and placed second. He crashed the 10th season of The Bachelorette to meet Andi Dorfman, but she decided that she did not want to meet him and returned again in the 1st season of Bachelor in Paradise. He literally just walked off the show in week 3. Chris returned again in the 2nd season of Bachelor in Paradise and chose to walk away again in week 4. When he returned for the 6th season of Bachelor in Paradise he actually got engaged!

Whew, that was a lot!

As you can see Chris has made his rounds on the show and after 6 tries I think The Bachelor just isn’t the show for him. Like seriously, after the fourth time he’s seeming a little creepy. Like, why do you keep coming back? Obviously, it’s time to hang up your Bachelor hat.

Now that you know who the characters are, let’s get into the relationship. These two have been rocky from the start and to be honest, I’ve been waiting for the day they announced their split. Not because I wish either of them ill, it’s quite the opposite. I want both of them to be happy. Especially Katy. She seems so sweet and bubbly. But she seemed to change in this relationship and not in a good way.

After the Final Rose Interview

In this interview, Katy basically expresses that she isn’t happy in her relationship with Chris. She wasn’t wearing her ring and apparently, she gave it to production before the tapping because Chris Harrison did a faux counseling session with them as if 5 minutes talking to Chris Harrison is going to help anyone’s relationship. Then when it was over Chris asked if she was ready to put her ring back on. Like, what?!

And what’s even worse is the cameras followed the couple outside after the interview. If you’re wondering why Chris seemed confused throughout the whole interview it’s because he had no idea any of this was about to happen. Katy blindsided him and decided to “tell the truth” about their relationship. I’m not faulting her but geez to not tell him was kind of sucky.

Besides their rocky time on paradise, this interview was the first sign of disaster for Chris and Katy. Check out a few other moments that pointed towards the sign of a breakup.

Bachelor Happy Hour Podcast Interview

Recently there was a Friendsgiving episode of Bachelor Happy Hour. The guests included Rachel and her husband, Bryan Abasolo. Also Joe and Kendal, Tayshia Adams and Katy Morton. I thought this was strange because these were all couples (except for Tayshia because she and JPJ just brought up) but Katie was sans Chris and I just thought that was super shady. Now in hindsight, they were probably already broken up or really close to it.

The Break-Up Post

If I’m being honest, the photo Katy used for the breakup post looked a little cringy. Chris’ hand was on Katy’s waist but the half-smiles on both of their faces were full of sadness. I’m like did they take this before or after their breakup?

I think Chris felt the pressure to make it work with Katy because of his reputation as a Bachelor repeater. And poor Katy tried and tried to make it work but they really were not a good fit for each other.
