Just when I thought I’d overcome the highschool trauma of being a floater (a.ka. everyone’s friend), Beyonce goes and hands out these orange boxes full of Ivy Park goodies to her Hollywood friends. And as a person that did not receive a box, I for one have to say I feel as left out as that one time my drill team friends dropped me when I quit the team senior year.
Wait? Is that too personal? It’s fine cause I’m totally over it lol.
But if you’re anything like me and the coolest piece of mail you’ve received in the past month was Victoria’s Secret monthly coupons (and let’s be real who even shops there anymore because #bodypositive), then listen up because I’m about to tell you about the dopest thing any mailman has ever delivered and undoubtedly the coolest thing these starlets have ever received.
It all started about a week ago when I was scrolling through Instagram and was suddenly met with a video from Reese Witherspoon. I didn’t think much of it until she started pushing this big, orange box up her driveway.
Long story short, the box contained an actual rack of clothes from Beyonce’s newest Ivy Park collection. And you might be thinking, how in the world do Reese Witherspoon and Beyonce connect? It is quite the story. One full of boldness, bubbly, and a viral moment you have to read about to believe.
I thought “how cute” when I saw the first video but then the hits kept on coming and apparently I had already missed a few.
Next, I saw a pregnant Ashey Graham bumping along to “Baby Boy” while celebrating receiving the Ivy Park swag.
Janelle Monae was also among the list of stars to receive an orange box. Hers was undoubtedly smaller than the rest, but I still would have given Beyonce the right to name my first child to be gifted even half an item from the collection.

This girl has also marched to the beat of her own drum and she literally marched/stomped (I’m confused as to what was actually happening) along to “I Got It” by Ricky Dillard as she filmed her orange box.
Whew! I think that’s it, guys.
So, what I’m telling you and what I gathered from this research, is basically everyone got a box except us. Yes, you too. Because if you’re reading this, I can 100% guarantee you did not get a box. And that’s okay. We’re okay. Right guys?
This is, however, a moment of inspiration. To see how Beyonce leveraged her friendships/partnerships to create this bomb marketing campaign — as a marketing babe I am in awe. With these deliveries, she made her brand feel exclusive, luxurious but also attainable at the same time and I am obsessed.
I maybe have two Ivy Park pieces that I bought back when the brand was in its infant stages. I haven’t revisited the brand since then even though those leggings did make my booty pop but this campaign has me about to head to my nearest Adidas to pick it up.
Maybe you’ll see me strutting around in the new Ivy Park collection. In the meantime, I will keep hope alive for all of us and continue to wait for my orange box to arrive.
