It took Tom Hanks getting corona for me to realize this is a real sitch. Like, ok nobody is immune from this thing. I really do need to wash my hands to the tune of “Truth Hurts” as the Internet recommends. And now that the NBA, MLB and NHL have all postponed their seasons, I’m shook.
But last night it all became quite real. With many events involving large gatherings being canceled, the Coronavirus is quickly becoming the scariest pandemic any of us have seen in our lifetimes. I’m hoping this kind of like the swine flu that eventually just goes away but it’s honestly looking like it’s gonna be much worse like the start of The Walking Dead or something.
And look, we’ve all seen a lot of information come out about the virus but I read somewhere that 150 million people are expected to contract this virus in the world. Right now a reported 130,000 cases of the virus have been reported so, it wasn’t long before corona affected Hollywood’s elite.
That’s right, one of the most beloved actors and his wife, Tom and Rita Hanks, have contracted the virus and it has shaken the world.
Tom posted on Instagram yesterday:
“Hello, folks. Rita and I are down here in Australia. We felt a bit tired, like we had colds, and some body aches. Rita had some chills that came and went. Slight fevers too. To play things right, as is needed in the world right now, we were tested for the Coronavirus, and were found to be positive.
Well, now. What to do next? The Medical Officials have protocols that must be followed. We Hanks’ will be tested, observed, and isolated for as long as public health and safety requires. Not much more to it than a one-day-at-a-time approach, no?

I haven’t personally been affected by the corona virus until now. How dare this diaease put its grimy, little hands on america’s most beloved actor. But his son and actor Chet Hanks, thinks everything will be fine.
He said in a statement on Instagram, ” I appreciate everyone’s concerns and the well wishes but I think it’s all gonna be alright.”
Well if you say so, buddy. Chet seemed super relaxed and not concerned by this so, I’m gonna go with his mindset for the time being.
If anything, this makes me want to be more cautious and take more precautions to protect my own health and those around me.
