We’re been tricked. Hoodwinked. Bamboozled. Because Mark from Love is Blind is not as innocent as he seemed when he hit our screens earlier this year.
As an avid watcher of Cheaters back in the day, I realize that it’s not completely unheard of for the entire world to find out you’re a lying scumbag on television. But for some reason this hit different.
It all starts with a Reddit user innocently posting about how her friend is dating Mark from Love is Blind. She quickly receives a response from his GIRLFRIEND that just so happens to be Mark’s castmate, Lauren “LC”, from Love is Blind.
Tbh I’m not gonna go into too much detail about Love is Blind, but here are the basics that you need to know to get through this post if you haven’t watched the show. Love is Blind is a Netflix reality show released earlier this year where contestants go on dates with people in pods. They can’t see each other but once they find the person they want to spend more time with they can propose. Only then will contestants get to see who they have been talking to the entire time.
Only problem is that the couples then fly to Mexico to complete the journey to the alter. There, they get to mix and mingle with the other couples that developed during the process. It gets awkward when you see the guy you passed up on and think, “geez he’s much hotter than the guy I chose” (not pointing any fingers but ‘hey Jessica’).
Jessica ends up with Mark but once she realizes the guy that dumps her in the pods is super hot, the situation gets weird. Because you see, Jessica was not that into Mark. Her flirtatious advances towards Barnett kind of felt like she was cheating on Mark. Not to mention, I believe Mark says a some point a previous girlfriend of his cheated. So, it was a surprise to learn that after all that, Mark is a lying ass cheater is accused of these crimes.
The Reddit thread is juicy. But this is the post that started it all.
Seems innocent enough, right?
Wrong. Because what happens next in this epic tale is something so unbelievable. I heard this news and my mouth hit the floor. We learned that not only is Lauren “LC” from the show dating Mark in real life *gasp* but they are also breaking up because, well obviously, Mark is a child that doesn’t understand he can’t put his wee wee in somebody else when he has a girlfriend.
Geez, it’s like you have to spell it out for men these days. But apparently LC actually did spell it out. In the Reddit thread, Lauren says, “I was SUPER clear from the first time we hung out that I wasn’t looking for a hookup and he assured me he’s ‘not that kind of guy’ and was ‘only interested in me’ and would say things like ‘What are you so afraid of with me? I’m not going anywhere, LC. That’s not who I am.'”
The comment goes on, go ahead and read it for yourself. It’s pretty damning for Mark.
Oh and apparently Mark was cheating on Jessica during production. Jessica, Mark’s fiancé on the show replied to a comment saying Mark was dating multiple people during production.
“Wow. News to me, I only knew about one,” Jessica commented.
I mean this factoid truly changes everything we know about the show. The show paints Jessica as being crazy and uninterested in Mark. While that might be true, it’s also true that Mark was probably worse than Jessica because he literally was with other people. So, let that sink in. We only got half of the story.
So, turns out it wasn’t just Mark’s age that led to him and Jessica splitting up. Yes, 24 is young as Jessica kept pointing out (even at the altar). But as someone that choose to marry at 23, I can say neither I nor my husband are lying scumbags. So, I think it had to do more with Mark as a person than his age. At the end of the day, #JusticeforLC. She deserves so much better.
