Pop the champagne! Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom have welcomed their first child together! Is it just me, or did it seem like she was pregnant for like two years?
Anyway, the couple, who have been dating since 2016 and got engaged in 2019, confirmed the birth of their baby girl this morning. She’s a Virgo, which means she will be strong and sensitive, just like her momma.

Oh! And her name!
With parents like Katy and Orlando, I was anticipating that she would be given a unique one. They did not disappoint — their new bundle’s name is Daisy Dove Bloom. And, my heart just burst.
Daisy Bloom!? That’s the most iconic name I’ve heard since North West and Blue Ivy. It certainly has a very nice ring to it. I can hear it now: “Daisy Bloom, leave mommy’s whipped cream bra alone! Daisy Bloom, stop playing in your dad’s pirate costumes!” I’m jealous already.
The couple announced Daisy’s birth via Unicef’s IG page and used the big news to share an important message with the world.
“We are floating with love and wonder from the safe and healthy arrival of our daughter,” it began. “But we know we’re the lucky ones and not everyone can have a birthing experience as peaceful as ours was.”
They then go on to shed light on the risks those in other communities have during birth, risks that are heightened by the COVID-19 pandemic, and “limited access to water, soap, vaccines and medicines that prevent diseases.”
The message ends with their support of UNICEF and its efforts to bring quality healthcare to communities where such things are lacking. They also announced that they’ve set up a donation page in honor of Daisy’s birth. The proceeds will go towards efforts that will “[support] a safe start to life and [reimagine] a healthier world for every child.”
Excuse me as I wipe tears off of my keyboard. What an amazing and sweet way to bring life into the world, by making sure it’s also safe and healthy for others. Daisy Dove’s life is already off to a great start, and with Katy and Orlando as her example, she’s certain to keep it that way.
