If I see the next Fast & Furious, there will be one reason and one reason alone. Jason Mamoa. That’s right. It was just released that he’ll be in the next film and honestly, that is probably the best thing they could have done for sustainability and lets me know they probably aren’t ending these movies anytime soon as I had originally thought.

In this instance, the franchise is exactly like Grey’s Anatomy. You know as soon as you start to get attached to a character (for me it takes a few seasons), they kill them off or send them to a lab in God knows where never to be heard from again. It’s sad but in these moments where I feel abandoned as a longtime viewer, I feel I can break away from the show and not be bound by the glorious grips it so regularly has me in. Every Thursday night. Chanting TGIF. I can’t stop.

Much like Grey’s Anatomy, Fast & Furious is one of those things I can’t stop watching. My favorite character is gone (RIP Paul Walker). And just when I can no longer bear the thought of investing my time, they re-up the cast and give me new storylines to fill the gaping hole in my heart. In this case, Jason Mamoa is the revival for Fast & Furious. Kind of like when they gave Meredith a love interest after McDreamy’s death. It was shocking. Especially after I had already sat in front of my television for 2 hours and balled my eyes out on the rollercoaster that was Season 11, Episode 21 titled “How to Save a Life”. No lives were saved and that title was very misleading.

Even though Paul didn’t technically die in F7, we all knew he was gone in real life and that final scene where they drive away from each other with “See You Agin” in the background might have been one of my lowest moments of 2015. Until, the TV/movie death gods decided to kill Derek Shephard 2 months later. 2015 was brutal man.

This is turning super morbid and that’s not was I was trying to do here. Honestly, I came here to drool over Jason Mamoa and talk about how he’s recently single even though I still don’t have a chance because there’s this guy that keeps calling me his wife. Idk guys. That’s all I got. Fast & Furious 10 is coming out next year. Byeeee.
