Is it absurd to expect those familiar giggles at the door,

To relive summers past, memories we all adore?

Grandma’s warmth made life a wondrous show,

Her presence, a legacy we forever know.

Clutching onto our twenties, our families bloom,

Time sprints ahead;  I remember my childhood in this very room

Now we’re the planners, tickets in hand,

No more playful hide-and-seek in the land.

But gazing at our kids, it all aligns somehow,

Realizing it’s their turn, the torch they must allow.

Let’s vow not to let this distance steal the crown,

Before long, we’ll wander back to this town.
